How Counseling Can Help

Are you feeling disconnected from your sense of self or purpose?

Has your life gone in a direction you are unhappy with?

Are you struggling as a parent or in your relationships?

Has your functioning within your family, or at work or at school declined?

Are you going through a life transition such as a move, job change, marriage, separation, retirement or loss of a loved one?

We are all a work in progress.

Counseling is not a “quick fix” or a “magic wand,” and I do not tell you what to do. Rather, counseling is an active, engaged process in which we develop a collaborative partnership built on trust, honesty, and safety. In your busy life, self-care may end up on the back burner. Counseling is an opportunity for you to turn inward and invest in living your best life.

Throughout our lives we develop a unique way to experience the world and interact with our environment. At some point in everyone’s life there will be times when we need to change these patterns and learn new ways to interact.

For instance, you may have developed a pattern that helped you survive at one point in your life that proves unhelpful or even damaging to you now. Counseling helps you: identify those patterns, understand how they once were helpful, and develop new patterns that will help you going forward.

In counseling, you will have a place to openly explore difficult subjects. I will provide perspective and gentle challenges to help you create positive changes in your life.  You deserve it!
